Luxury vinyl flooring: affordable style and so much more

If you’ve ever wanted the look of wood, natural stone, or tile in your home but, for whatever reason, couldn't have it, you're in luck because you can now.  Luxury vinyl flooring (LVF) has such vivid, true-to-life images of genuine materials that even the flooring experts sometimes have difficulty discerning the real thing's difference. This 100% waterproof, durable, low maintenance has an uncomplicated installation, making it one of the most asked-for products.

Image is everything

Image won’t disappoint. Digital photography creates accurate, realistic echoes with knots, grains, swirls, and veining variations in plain sight, all available in an assortment of colors and patterns.  Since LVF follows all current trends, you can get anything from gray and reclaimed wood to marble floors and encaustic tiles. Micro beveling and deep embossing add depth, dimension, and textured features such as the wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, and distressed.

A great design option is you can have it cut into planks to mimic hardwood boards called vinyl plank flooring (LVP) or square tile-sized pieces called LVT flooring (LVT).  Many feel the extra seams add to the realism and even take it further by using grout, which now comes in a broad color palette with the tiles.

Waterproof & durable flooring

This is a waterproof product, meaning that it’s composed of entirely waterproof materials, such as vinyl and the vinyl composites core.  That also makes it waterproof from top to bottom.

While all vinyl is durable, LVF tends to be thicker; it should be at least 8-mm. It’s also layered and, at the top, is a transparent, strong wear layer that protects against scratches and scuffs and keeps spills from absorbing; that should measure at least 20-mils.

It just needs daily sweeping and periodic mopping with a manufacturer-approved cleaner.  Installation can be a floating floor where the pieces click together, then hover over the subfloor with no nails or glue.
